About the Practice
Opened in 1982 , Skyway Dental Clinic is a comprehensive and caring dental home for families and working professionals in and around the Downtown and the North Loop neighborhoods of Minneapolis.
The practice was established by Dr. Frederick Schilling who served this community for over 40 years. In 2017, Dr. Maggie Thompson joined the practice and took over ownership in 2021.
We are proud to be part of the large and bustling downtown community but their approach to dentistry features more personal touch. We believe spending focused, one-on-one time with our patients is important for fostering strong patient-provider relationships. We are committed to patient education and our goal is to empower each person who comes through the door to be active, informed participants in decisions regarding their dental health care.

Meet Our Doctors
Maggie Craven Thompson, DDS
Dr. Maggie Craven Thompson was born and raised in Austin, MN – a.k.a Spamtown, USA. She moved to Minneapolis in 2009 to attend the University of Minnesota for her undergraduate career, receiving a B.S. in Biology. After falling in love with the metro area, she continued her academic career at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2017. Go Gophers!
Dr. Maggie is excited to have found a home at Skyway Dental Clinic and grateful for the mentorship of Dr. Schilling. In 2021, she became the new owner and operator of Skyway Dental Clinic. As a proponent of lifelong learning, she is active in various professional organizations such as the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, the City of Lakes Chapter of the Seattle Study Club, and Spear Education Study Club.
Dr. Maggie is passionate about developing lasting patient relationships through patient education and quality, personalized care. She now resides in St. Paul with her husband, Matt, and their rescue pup, Lena. She spends her free time with family and friends, traveling, crafting, cooking, and exploring the Twin Cities through long walks with Lena and frequenting local restaurants.
Dr. Krishna Katira
We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Krishna Katira to our practice! Dr. Katira has a kind, thorough and patient-centered approach to dentistry. She is a seasoned general dentist with advanced training in the areas of endodontics and beyond and looks forward to serving our Downtown, North Loop and Northeast Minneapolis communities.

Meet Our Team
Eileen
Registered Dental HygienistEileen studied Dental Hygiene at Northwestern University, graduating in 1989. She spent the first 8 years of her career in Chicago, working for both a general dentist and a periodontist. She and her husband moved to the twin cities in 1997. They have two children, a daughter and a son. Eileen serves as secretary on her church council and served as treasurer of her son’s high school swim team for 4 years. She and her family enjoy spending time at the cabin and traveling, having taken trips to Norway and Australia in the last few years.

Diane
Licensed Dental AssistantDiane graduated from Minneapolis Technical College’s Dental Assisting program in 1987 and has been working in the dental field ever since. She strives for excellence and is proud to be Licensed and DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) Certified. Diane joined Skyway Dental in 2012, and brought with her many years of experience in the dental profession. The ever-changing world of dentistry has taught Diane to learn and grow both professionally and personally. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and feels that helping people with their dental needs is very rewarding and positive.
Diane currently resides in St. Paul, MN. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend Andy and being outdoors. Diane also enjoys crocheting and spoiling her two cats, Daisy and Sam.
Kimberly
Licensed Dental AssistantKimberly joined Skyway Dental Clinic in 2017 as a Licensed Dental Assistant. She brings with her 29 years of dental experience. Patient comfort is Kim’s main focus as she assists in treating patients. Kim has two adult children and resides in Stacy, MN. Although Kim is accustomed to rural life, she is a big city girl at heart!
In her spare time, you can find Kim fishing, hiking, camping, and spending time with her friends and family.
Cindy
Office ManagerCindy graduated from Concorde Career Institute as a Licensed Dental Assistant in 1994. She joined the Skyway Dental Clinic team in August 2008 as a Dental Assistant. In 2015, Cindy joined our administrative team and she is the first friendly face you see when you walk in to our office! Patients are quickly comforted by Cindy’s friendly demeanor and extensive dental experience. Cindy maintains her dental assistant licensure and you may occasionally catch her assisting one of our doctors.
Cindy has two adult children and one high-school aged child who will graduate in 2020, and two grandchildren who keep her very busy. Recently, Cindy got engaged and now she has two step-children to add to her brood. If you’re counting, that’s nine people in her house!
In her spare time, Cindy enjoys spending time at the beach, motorcycling and vacationing in Florida.
